Srinagar: Senior BJP Leader and former Chairman J&K Legislative Council Kargil Haji Anayat Ali Friday alleged that district administration Ganderbal has been beating and harassing Ladakh Bound passengers at different locations in the district.
He said that this issue remains there when Ladakh was part of J&K State and now when Ladakh has become a separate Union Territory.
He alleged that the police in Ganderbal act like goons thrashing passengers including women and children.
Referring to his conversation with Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, he said that the UT Administration has no clue of the situation and is asking for a report from the complainant which is a very sorry state of affairs.
The UT administration should act swiftly and solve the issue of the passengers which was not expected in such a situation when the whole country is reeling under the threat of Covid-19.
He alleged that the Ganderbal police is thrashing Ladakhi vehicles and damaging the property also and requested the administration to form a committee to look into the matter and immediately evacuate the stranded passengers and vehicles of UT Ladakh.
