Srinagar: Majlis Ulema Imamia J&K (MUI) on Tuesday urged people over the age of 45 to come forward and get vaccinated against the lethal #COVID19 infection.
MUI in a statement also appealed people to strictly follow every direction as advised by administration and medical professionals.
MUI emphasised strict adherence of the orders of jurisprudents & medical experts regarding the congregational prayers in the holy month of Ramazan in view of the pandemic. It urged people to avoid all kinds of large gatherings adding “even if small gatherings are held somewhere, all SOPs should be followed”.
“This year the situation is worse than last year and that is why it is important to avoid holding large gatherings. Public should strictly adhere to all precautions, including wearing masks & keeping a distance to prevent the spread of infection & loss of life”, the MUI said.
The Ulema Council expressed grave concern over the havoc created by the outbreak of #COVID19 in some states of India and expressed sympathy with the loved ones and relatives of the victims of the pandemic.
The Majlis also issued an appeal to Mohalla-Masjid Committees, management of Imambaras and religious & welfare centers in Kashmir to keep ready & provide oxygen concentrators in their respective areas so that timely assistance is provided to the needy.
