Srinagar: The JKTDC Retired Employees Association Tuesday expressed concern over the non release of their cola arrears, 7th pay commission arrears and other due arrears in favour of the deceased employees.
The employees met in Srinagar to express grief and sorrow over the demise of GM Bhat and Som Dutt Sharma who were suffering from ailments but due to non availability of medical expenses passed away.
In a statement, the retired employees said that though the Managing Director JKTDC and the FACAO were well in time requested to release their arrears for the treatment of deceased but they turned deaf ear with the result both employees died without having timely treatment due to the negligence of JKTDC management.
The association condemned the attitude of JKTDC management towards its retirees who worked for the development of the corporation in odd times particularly during 1990’s, 2010 2016.
“The JKTDC management is aware that the retired employees are suffering badly as we have no pension so how long shall we remain dependent on others when we have our own earned money with JKTDC,” they asked.
The association urged the Managing Director JKTDC Srinagar to release all pending dues (cola arrears, leave salary arrears, 7th pay commission, gratuity arrears) in their favour without further delay otherwise the association shall be compelled to come on roads.
The association also appealed the advisor LG in charge Tourism to intervene in the matter on humanitarian grounds.
