WE’RE in the midst of the holiest months of the year. A month which is full of blessings and hope. It is also considered an opportunity by Muslims to put their best foot forward in conduct, kindness and worship.
However, what is markedly different from typical Ramazans is the challenge that we’re having to face owing to the covid-19 pandemic. The second wave has coincided with the holy month. While this may bring our spirits down but the invitations of the month are otherwise.
This is a rare opportunity that every single one of us has gotten to save lives. This can be done by the simple act of masking up for yourself, for your loved ones and for others as well. Practicing social distancing, maintaining hand hygiene, masking up are some very easy to save lives. Imagine the spiritual rewards besides our own safety!
The situation is getting grim by the day. However, we’ve the opportunity to make this test easier through the aid and assistance of this holy month. Pray for everyone’s safety, be proactive in facilitating community efforts, mask up, wash hands and maintain social distancing. It is truly that simple!
