Srinagar: Two coaching centres in Srinagar were closed on Saturday after nine students tested positive for coronavirus.
“On the directions of Chairman District Disaster Management Authority/ Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad, a team of revenue and police officers sealed the premises of Allen Coaching Institute Sadrabal Hazratbal and Hope classes at Parraypora, Srinagar after three and six covid positive cases respectively were detected in these institutes during random testing of students by the Medical Teams,” officials said.
The class work in these coaching institutes shall remain suspended for five days in the first instance, they said.
Furthermore, notices were issued to Career Institute Hazratbal, Takshila Institute and Target PMT for alleged violations of Covid protocols and SOPs, they said.”The team also inspected the premises of Akash Institute Hazratbal, KIE Institute Parraypora, Mission Institute Parraypora and Nature Classes Parraypora. The management of these institutes were directed to ensure strict adherence to the guidelines and SOPs issued by the Government from time to time with respect to Covid 19 protocols and in case of non compliance, strict action as warranted under law shall be taken against them.”
District Administration Srinagar has said that such inspections shall continue to enforce Covid protocol as per guidelines of the State Executive Committee. (GNS)
