Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Police and army’s 53 RR launched a search operation in forest area of village Shanipora in Khansahib on Saturday morning on the basis of a credible input, a police spokesperson said. During searches, he said, the joint team besides incriminating material of Lashker-e-Taiba recovered a concealed bag containing arms and ammunition.
The recovered arms and ammunition, the police spokesperson said, included one Chinese pistol with four magazines, one UBGL with four rounds, 3 Radio Set Antennas, one 9 Volt Battery, three rounds of 7.62mm and 98 rounds of 9 mm besides a bonnet cover.
“Upon this, a case FIR Number 44/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation is taken up,” he added.
