Srinagar: The four districts of Jammu and Kashmir count for over 84 per cent of the total actives cases of Covid-19.
As per the figures available, the active cases in Srinagar, Baramulla and Budgam in Kashmir division are 767, 201 and 122 respectively which count for 87.6 per cent of the total active cases in the Kashmir division.
In the Jammu division, of 412 total active cases, 325 are in Jammu district which counts for 78.88 per cent of total active cases.
Out of a total 1681 active cases, 1415 cases are in only four districts namely Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam and Jammu count 84.17 per cent of the total cases.
In the rest of the 16 districts the active cases are highest in Pulwama where active cases are at 51 while there is just a single active case in the Kishtiwar district of Jammu.
Pertinently, active cases in J&K were less than 600 last month but active cases are increasing and the recovery rate is decreasing with each passing day.
Experts had recently said the second wave is already in J&K and now everything depends on how it will behave.
They have also appealed authorities to gear up for vaccination drive besides to increase testing rate also.
