Srinagar: The overall fatality count due to coronavirus inched closer to 2000 mark in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday as three more people died of the infection, while 99 fresh cases of virus were reported during the last 24 hours.
Among the three victims who succumbed to coronavirus on Saturday, officials said, two were residents of Kashmir Valley while one was from Jammu division. With these deaths, the overall toll in J&K has risen to 1974—730 in Jammu and 1244 in Valley.
About the fresh 99 cases of Covid-19, officials said Kashmir Valley reported 75 while the remaining 24 were detected in Jammu division.
Giving district-wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 42, Baramulla 12, Budgam 6, Pulwama 2, Anantnag 4, Bandipora 2, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 2, Shopian 3, Jammu 14, Samba 2, Poonch and Udhampur one each new cases of coronavirus.
Moreover, they said, 102 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—11 from Jammu Division and 91 from Kashmir Valley.
