Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed lives of two more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, while 73 fresh cases of infection, including twenty-three travellers were detected across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
Both the deaths, officials said, were reported from Kashmir Valley thus raising the total number of Covid-19 related fatalities in J&K to 1971—729 in Jammu and 1242 in Valley.
Among the 73 fresh cases, they said, 59 were from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 14 from Jammu division.
Giving the district-wise details of cases, officials said that Srinagar reported 34, Baramulla 10, Budgam 5, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 3, Ganderbal and Shopian one each, Jammu 9, Udhampur and Rajouri one each new case of coronavirus.
Moreover, they said, 80 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—six from Jammu Division and 74 from Kashmir Valley.
