Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club Monday met Director Tourism Kashmir Dr. G N Itoo to welcome him who recently assumed office.
J&K Hoteliers Club was led by its Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya who was accompanied by Secretary-General Tariq Rashid Ghani and President Gulmarg Chapter Mukhtar Shah.
Chaya welcomed Dr. G N Itoo on assuming the office as Director Tourism Kashmir and expressed hope that under his leadership, the tourism sector will be taken to new heights.
Chaya said Tourism industry is one of the mainstays of JK’s economy and needs to be promoted vigorously.
He complimented the efforts of the department for attracting tourists back to the Valley after Covid-19 unlock.
Chaya said the hoteliers will provide every sort of support to the tourism department for the upcoming promotional activities.
He also informed the Director that tourists are confirming bookings in good numbers which is an encouraging sign and needs to be further capitalised.
“We have been facing a severe crisis for almost two years. Now tourists have started coming back. We are welcoming them but we need to further strengthen the promotional campaigns,” he said.
J&K Hoteliers Club also raise various issues with the director and hope that they will be addressed sooner.
