Srinagar: Two more people died of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday while sixty fresh cases of virus were detected across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
Both the deaths were reported from Kashmir Valley—one each from Kupwara and Shopian districts respectively, officials said.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 1943 in J&K—1221 in Valley and 722 in Jammu division, the officials said.
Srinagar district with 458 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (371), Baramulla (174), Budgam (118), Kupwara (96), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (86), Doda (64), Bandipora (61), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (54), Rajouri (55), Kathua (53), Ganderbal (46), Shopian (40), Samba (40), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(22), and Reasi (15).
Meanwhile, sixty fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in J&K during the last 24 hours, taking the total virus tally to 124719, officials said on Thursday.
Among the fresh cases, the officials said 42 cases were reported from Kashmir Valley and 18 others from the Jammu division. Also, three districts from Kashmir and six from the Jammu division reported zero cases during the time.
Giving the district-wise break-up, they said, Srinagar reported 22, Baramulla 3, Budgam 3, Pulwama 4, Anantnag 5, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 1, Jammu 8, Poonch 1, Ramban 2 and Reasi 7 new cases of Covid-19. (With GNS inputs)
