SRINAGAR: MD KPDCL, Mr. Mohammad Aijaz IAS, today convened a meeting to review the progress of Smart Metering of Srinagar City. The Nodal Officer Smart Metering briefed the chair about the progress achieved in this regard.
DGM, RECPDCL informed that 200 smart meters stand installed at Peerbagh locality of Srinagar. The DGM further informed that the installed smart meters will be integrated with the Data Centre servers at Bemina, which have already been installed.
The DGM further informed that a second lot of 1000 smart meters are in the pipeline of being supplied and are expected to reach Srinagar by 29th Jan 2021. MD KPDCL directed the DGM to speed up the process of integration of smart meters and operationalisation of communication head end systems at data centre Srinagar, so that remote meter reading and switching control is possible in respect of consumers migrating to smart metering systems.
The MD KPDCL further directed the Project Implementation Agency to expedite the process of procurement of Smart Meters to ensure installation without break and achievement of target of complete smart metering of Srinagar City by June
