Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Saturday sent off 74 snow clearance machines from its transport yard for 74 electoral wards of the city for snow clearance purposes.
Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu sent off the snow clearance vehicles.
Besides Chief Sanitation Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer, Xen Mech, Chairman Public Health and Sanitation, Enforcement Officer Central , Enforcement Officers and various Corporators also accompanied the Mayor.
Mayor directed the concerned to immediately go for clearance of important stretches leading to hospitals, religious places, main roads and other vital destinations in the city.
He further passed on directions that all the 74 machines will be stationed at wards only so that in case of continuous heavy snowfall the machines will be constantly put to operational mode for swift removal of snow.
