Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed life of one more person in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, even as 244 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected across the Union territory during the last 24 hours.
The victim, officials said was a 75-year-old woman from Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
With her death, the total fatality count reached 1187 in the Valley while 698 have succumbed to the virus in Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 450 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (355), Baramulla (171), Budgam (109), Kupwara (91), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (83), Doda (64), Bandipora (60), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (49), Ganderbal (43), Shopian (38), Samba (38), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(21), and Reasi.
Meanwhile, seventeen travellers and two CRPF personnel were among 244 new covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.
Of the 244 cases, 107 were reported from Jammu division and the remaining 137 from Kashmir Valley taking the total number of people infected by the virus across J&K to 121471.
Giving district wise details, officials said, Srinagar recorded 46, Baramulla (16), Budgam (5), Kupwara (9), Pulwama (12), Anantnag (17), Bandipora (4), Ganderbal (11), Kulgam (2), Shopian (15), Jammu (78), Udhampur (3), Rajouri (2), Doda (3), Kathua (5), Kishtwar (1), Samba (4), Poonch (5) and Ramban six new cases of Covid-19.
