Srinagar- Eight civilians were injured on Saturday after suspected militants hurled a grenade on an ITBP vehicle in Tral township of South Kashmir.
Around 11:20AM, suspected militants lobbed a grenade towards the vehicle of ITBP 3rd battalion at Bus stand Tral, a police spokesperson said. The grenade, he said, missed the intended target and exploded in the market leaving at least eight civilians injured.
All the injured persons were removed to the nearby hospital, where their condition is said to be stable, the police spokesperson said.
Soon after the attack, government forces cordoned off the area to nab the attackers.
“Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime,” the police spokesperson added.
