Srinagar: A sexagenarian man died of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, while 217 more people, including eight security personnel and a minor tested Covid-19 positive in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
A 60-year-old man from Jammu succumbed to coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the fatality count across J&K to 1880, officials said Wednesday.
Srinagar district with 449 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (355), Baramulla (171), Budgam (108), Kupwara (91), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (83), Doda (63), Bandipora (60), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (54), Kathua (48), Ganderbal (43), Shopian (38), Samba (38), Poonch (23), Ramban (21), Kishtwar(21), and Reasi.
Meanwhile, 217 fresh cases of Covid-19, including eight security personnel and one minor were detected in J&K during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people infected by virus in the Union Territory to 120744, officials said.
Among them, officials said, 116 cases were from Jammu Division and 101 from Kashmir.
Giving a district wise break-up, officials said Srinagar reported 48, Baramulla 19, Budgam 11, Kupwara 2, Pulwama 4, Anantnag 8,Bandipora 3, Ganderbal 3, Kulgam 1, Shopian 2, Jammu 77, Udhampur 3, Rajouri 3, Doda 5, Kathua 4, Samba 19, Poonch 2, Ramban 2 and Reasi 1 new case of Covid-19.
Moreover, they said, 270 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 128 from Jammu Division and 142 from Kashmir. (With GNS inputs)
