Srinagar: The Srinagar city is all set to have it’s elected Mayor on November 25 for which three candidates are in the fray.
According to Secretary Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Mohammad Akbar Sofi three candidates have filed their nomination papers for the post of Mayor as the deadline for the nominations ended on Saturday.
“Former Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattu, former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran and Aijaz Rasool of Congress are the candidates who are in the fray for the elections,” he said.
The elections will be held on 25th of November at the council hall of the corporation, he said.
Pertinently, the post is lying vacant for more than five months, after Mattu was ousted from the chair through a no-confidence motion on June 16. (KDC)
