Srinagar: At least two people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, even as 608 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected in the Union Territory, taking the total number of people infected by the virus to 105984.
Among the two victims, officials said one was a 75-year-old woman from Bandipora in Valley and another a 58-year-old man from Shiv Nagar Udhampur.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1073 and 551 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 402 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (287), Baramulla (159), Budgam (98), Pulwama (86), Kupwara (80), Anantnag (77), Doda (52), Bandipora(50), Rajouri (49), Kulgam (48), Ganderbal (37), Shopian (36), Udhampur (37), Kathua (35), Samba (26), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(16), and Reasi (9).
Meanwhile, the reports of 608 more people, including seven minors, a doctor and 26 travelers, came out to be Covid-19 positive in the Union Territory today.
In Kashmir Valley, 297 more people tested positive for coronavirus while the remaining 311 were detected in Jammu division, officials said Saturday.
Giving a district-wise break-up, officials said Srinagar reported 124, Baramulla 40, Budgam 47, Pulwama 21, Kupwara 16,Anantnag 12, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 16, Kulgam 1, Shopian 4, Jammu 115, Rajouri 8, Udhampur 68, Doda 28, Kathua 14, Poonch 3, Samba 13, Kishtwar 35, Ramban 23 and Reasi 4.
The officials further said that 564 patients have been recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—182 from Jammu division and 382 from Kashmir Valley.
