Srinagar: Former minister and National Conference leader Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has lashed out at Congress party for not siding with the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
In a series of tweets, Ruhullah said that if J&K stands betrayed today it’s only because of the wrong policies & fake promises by Congress party.
“The fact is that Congress is a mere political party with no ideology & principles in practice to stand for. Secular Nation & sovereign promises like Art 370 where what they stood for in the beginning. After 70 years they are so clueless that they don’t even know what they stand for,” Ruhullah, who has emerged as a dissenting voice in the NC lately, tweeted.

He said, “If we stand betrayed today after 70 years, it’s only because of Congress which promised not only J&K but the entire Muslim population an inclusive & secular India and after 70 years get bullied by BJP & fall in submission to their (BJP’s) vocal hindutva & ‘Nationalistic’ shout.”

In another tweet, Ruhullah said, “Leaving us all betrayed and helpless. They don’t have an Ideology to stand firm for. They are just clueless about how to gain the lost power. They have forgotten India long before BJP came to take advantage over their ideological and political impotence.”
