Srinagar: One person was killed while four others sustained critical injuries in a fatal car accident along Srinagar-Leh highway at Haji Qabar Sonamarg area of central-Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday.
An Alto car bearing Registration number JK-16A 6111 was on way from Nilgrath to Kullan when the driver presumably lost control over the vehicle resulting the cab falling into nallah Sindh at Haji Qabar Shitkadi area of Sonamarg in the district, reported news agency GNS.
In the incident, driver of the vehicle died on the spot even as four others on-board passengers sustained critical injuries.
Confirming the incident, a police official said that the accident took place this morning which has resulted in death of the car driver Suhail Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Raheem Bhat of Rayeel Gund and injuries to four other passengers.
A police party was rushed to the spot and have taken the injured to PHC Sonamarg for treatment, the official said.
We have registered a case into the incident and further investigation will be taken up accordingly, the official added.
