Srinagar: Srinagar Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued, police said, “Police party of Police Station Parimpora stopped vehicle Alto bearing Redg. No. JK22A 9281 driven by one namely Bilal Ahmad Mir son of Gh Mohd Mir, a resident of Nowpora Tral and during search 425 bottles of Codeine phosphate and 2304 capsules of Spaslock Proxyvon was found in his vehicle, were recovered.”
“The recovered illicit drugs/vehicle was seized on the spot and the person arrested,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, in this regard a Case FIR No. 230/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation has been taken up.
