50 Travelers Among 589 New Cases
Srinagar: At least eight more people died of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, taking the number of fatalities since the outbreak of pandemic in the Union Territory to 1399.
While Kashmir valley reported five more Covid-19 deaths on Tuesday, the remaining three were confirmed by the officials from Jammu division.
Among the fatalities in the Valley, the officials said included a 38-year-old woman from Rainawari here, who died at SKIMS Soura, thirteen days after she was admitted to the hospital. They said a 90-year-old woman from Moomin Abad Batmaloo died at SMHS hospital where she was admitted and diagnosed with bilateral community acquired pneumonia.
Besides them, officials said a 65-year-old from Chelan Kulgam also died at SMHS hospital here where she was admitted with bilateral CAP on October 14. A 75-year-old man from Sopore Baramulla died at SKIMS Bemina, one among the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19 in Valley, four days after he was admitted there. One more victim, they said, was from Shopian.
Regarding the deaths from the Jammu division, officials said that two were reported from the winter capital of the J&K and another from Udhampur district.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 935 in Valley and 463 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 335 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (239), Baramulla (136), Budgam (90), Pulwama (78), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (71), Kulgam (46), Bandipora(43), Rajouri (45), Doda (42), Shopian (35), Ganderbal (30), Kathua (30), Udhampur (27), Samba (25), Poonch (22), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (12), and Reasi (7).
50 Travelers Among 589 New Cases
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir reported on Tuesday 589 new cases of coronavirus, including fifty travelers, taking the total number of people infected by the virus across the Union Territory to 88958.
While 241 new cases were reported from Jammu division, in Kashmir valley 348 more people tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, officials said
Giving district wise details, they said, Srinagar reported 136 cases, Budgam 34, Baramulla 32, Pulwama 30, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 39, Bandipora 32, Ganderbal 21, Kulgam 12, Shopian 8, Jammu 118, Rajouri 10,Udhampur 10, Doda 25, Kathua 9, Poonch 13, Samba 7, Kishtwar 25, Ramban 11 and Reasi 13.
Moreover, officials said, 770 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 349 from Jammu Division and 421 from Kashmir Valley.
