Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded highest ever spike in coronavirus cases as 1251 more people tested Covid-19 positive, taking the total number of people infected by the deadly disease across the Union Territory to 42241.
While Jammu division reported 739 new cases of Covid-19, the remaining 512 were confirmed by the officials in the Kashmir valley, officials said. Among the fresh cases include 86 travelers.
Giving district-wise break, officials said, Srinagar reported 181 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 51, Pulwama 40, Budgam 69, Anantnag 35, Bandipora 12, Kupwara 54, Kulgam 3, Shopian 4, Ganderbal 63, Jammu 520, Rajouri 22, Kathua 27, Udhampur 72, Samba 23, Ramban 19, Doda 27, Poonch 11, Reasi 2and Kishtwar 16.
Also, the officials said 489 more patients were discharged from various hospitals in the Union Territory after recovering from the disease. Among them, they said 123 were from Jammu while 366 from Valley.
