Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday witnessed another spike as 1,047 fresh cases of Covid-19 tested positive including 74 travellers taking the total number of positive cases to 40,990 in the Union Territory.
Of the total 40,990 cases, 30,579 are from Kashmir and 10,411 from Jammu division. Among 1,047 new cases, 554 belong to Kashmir division while as 493 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 30,579 including 24,474 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 10,411 including 6,961 recoveries and 81 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,800 including 5,431 from Kashmir division and 3,369 from Jammu division.
With 676 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 31,435 which is 76.68 percent of the total cases.
Pertinently Jammu division crossed 10 thousand mark on Friday as division witnessed huge spike of positive cases in last two days. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 175 from Srinagar, 61 from Baramulla, 34 from Pulwama, 78 from Budgam, 48 from Anantnag, 34 from Bandipora, 69 from Kupwara, 21 from Kulgam, 04 from Shopian and 30 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 493 from Jammu division include 322 from Jammu, 18 from Rajouri, 40 from Kuthua, 44 from Udhampur, 13 from Samba, 06 from Ramban, 07 from Doda, 11 from Poonch, 04 from Reasi and 28 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 9,910 positive cases including 231 deaths and 8,191 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,937 including 103 deaths and 2,328 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,767 including 2,260 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,722 including 1,982 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Budgam, 2,464 including 52 deaths and 1,932 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,318 including 1,595 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,235 cases including 1,564 and 53 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,982 including 1,820 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,735 including 1,611 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Shopian and 1,609 including 1,188 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 4,382 including 2,211 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Jammu district, 967 including 789 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,012 including 747 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kuthua, 909 including 728 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Udhampur, 777 including 578 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Samba, 673 including 648 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 466 including 362 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Doda, 469 including 365 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Poonch, 437 including 338 recoveries are from Reasi and 319 including 195 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 472,900 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 44,162 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 8,800 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 371,147 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,036 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,031,316 samples are available. Out of 1,031,316 the number of samples tested negative stands at 990,326 while 49,990 have tested positive, among them 8,800 are active and 31,435 persons have recovered.
