84 travellers among 666 new cases
Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported six more Covid-19 related deaths, taking the number of fatalities due to the virus in J&K to 625, officials said.
While the deadly infection claimed four lives in Kashmir valley,two others succumbed in Jammu division, the officials said.
“A 65-year-old man Baramulla who was admitted as a case of “severe covid-19 with Type 2 DM and Hypertension “died at CD hospital. He was admitted on August 18,” they said.
“The patient developed sudden cardiopulmonary arrest and was declared dead at 3:06 p.m. today,” the officials said.
A 70-year-old man from Maqam, Baramulla died a week after he was admitted to SMHS hospital here, they said.
They said a 70-year-old woman of Wayil Ganderbal died, two days after she was admitted to SKIMS Soura.
“She was suffering from HTN, COPD with severe covid pneumonia and type 1 respiratory failure,” they said.
Also a woman from Ganderbal, admitted on August 22 died at SKIMS and she tested positive on Rapid Antigen test,
Two deaths were reported from Jammu including a government employee.
A 53-year-old junior engineer in Power Development department, hailing from Greater Kailash area of Jammu, breathed his last at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu this morning, the officials said.
They said the junior engineer was admitted in the hospital in a critical condition some days back and was tested positive for COVID-19.
An elderly woman, a resident of Satwari area of Jammu, died at GMC hospital Saturday night. She was suffering from various ailments and her COVID-19 test had also returned positive last week, the officials said.
With these deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 629 including 578 from Kashmir division and 47 from Jammu division.
84 travellers among 666 new cases
84 travellers were among 666 new covid-19 infections reported in Jammu and Kashmir in last twenty-four hours, officials said.
They said 126 of them were from Jammu division and 540 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall case tally to 32647.
Giving district-wise break of the cases, officials sources said that Srinagar reported 258 cases, Baramulla 34,
Pulwama 37, Budgam 40, Anantnag 47, Kulgam 27, Shopian 3, Kupwara 34, Bandipora 27, Ganderbal 33, Jammu 60, Rajouri 12, Kathua 12, Udhampur 7, Ramban 2, Samba 15, Doda 2, Poonch 9 and Reasi 7.
Moreover 434 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 109 from Jammu Division and 325 from Kashmir Division. (With GNS inputs)
