Kupwara: The army on Thursday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid by killing a militant in an ongoing operation along the line of control (LoC) at Keran sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
In a statement,the army said that suspicious movement of unidentified persons was detected across the LoC at Keran sector of Kupwara this morning which was intercepted during which one militant got killed.
The statement said that “suspicious move of unidentified persons detected across the LoC at Keran Sector, Kupwara this morning.”
It said that the militants trying to infiltrate were intercepted by their own troops, contact was established and the infiltration bid was foiled. “During the exchange of gunfire, one militant got killed and one AK was recovered from the site of encounter. The operation in the area is under progress,” it read.
