Srinagar- A 58-year-old woman from Srinagar, who had tested positive for Covid-19, died at a hospital here, taking the number of deaths due the disease in Jammu and Kashmir to 86, officials said on Tuesday.
The woman, hailing from Natipora area of Srinagar, passed away at Chest Disease (CD) hospital on Monday night, the officials said.
“The woman was diabetic, hypertensive and had bilateral pneumonia. She was shifted from SMHS hospital to the CD hospital on Monday evening and died later died at the hospital,” they said.
With this fatality, the death toll due to the pathogen has risen in Jammu and Kashmir to 86— 76 in Valley and 10 in Jammu division.
Srinagar, with 20 deaths tops the list of Covid-19 fatalities followed by 14 in Baramulla, 10 each in Shopian & Kulgam, seven in Jammu, six each in Budgam & Anantnag, five in Kupwara, four in Pulwama and one each in Bandipora, Udhampur, Doda and Rajouri districts. (with GNS inputs)
