SRINAGAR: Three unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out in Zoonimar-Gili Kadal area of the old Srinagar on Sunday morning, police said.
The encounter started following a cordon and search operation by hundreds of troops from CRPF (Quick Action Team), 115 Bn, 28Bn CRPF and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police.
According to Police parents of the trapped militants were brought to the encounter site and asked to surrender but the trapped militants refused to do so.

SRINAGAR: A vast area in downtown Srinagar has been cordoned off by the paramilitary forces while mobile internet has been snapped amid reports of the presence of some militants in the area.
A cordon and search operation (CASO) has been launched by Jammu & Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces in Zoonimar-Zadibal belt following inputs about presence of militants in the area, police sources said.
Authorities have also snapped mobile internet services in downtown and have also deployed forces in large numbers in surrounding areas as a precautionary measure, reports said.
