Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 125 fresh cases of Covid-19, including ten soldiers, four policemen and three expecting mothers, raising the number of infected people across the Union Territory to 5680, officials said.
“125 new Covid-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 102 of them are from Kashmir, 23 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 31 cases were reported from Srinagar, 18 from Pulwama, 11 from Kulgam, 10 from Baramulla, eight each from Anantnag & Jammu, seven each from Kupwara, Bandipora, Shopian & Kathua, four from Samba, two from Budgam & Udhampur and one each from Ganderbal, Poonch & Rajouri, they said.
They said that 50 more patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 5,680 out of which 4,374 are in Kashmir, while 1,306 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 2,411 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 1,772 in Kashmir and 639 in Jammu — and 3,194 (2,536 from Kashmir and 658 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 75 Covid-19 (66 from Kashmir, 9 from Jammu) deaths so far.
