Jammu- An Army soldier was killed and two others were injured in cross-border firing along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu division, officials said on Sunday.
An army soldier identified as Sepoy Luingambui Abonmei of 10 Asam regiment, was killed and two others, Lelienkothein Senghon and Tangsoik Kwianiungar, were injured during the cross border firing in Kerni sector of Poonch district, the officials said.
They said that both the injured have been airlifted to Udhampur command hospital for advanced treatment.
This is the third fatality in cross-border firing in twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri this month.
Earlier, on June 4, havaldar P Mathiazhagan was killed in cross-border in firing in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, while on June 10, Naik Gurcharan Singh lost his life in a similar incident in Rajouri sector.
