Srinagar- Two militants were killed in a gunfight with state forces in Nipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, police said.
State forces launched a cordon and search operation in Nipora area of Kulgam this morning after receiving specific information about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
He said a gunfight broke out after the militants opened fire at a search party of the forces.
In the ensuing gunfight, two militants were killed, the official said.
He said the identity and group affiliation of the slain militants was being ascertained.
