Srinagar: An army man was killed in cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani Sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said Friday.
Pakistan troops on Thursday night opened fire upon Indian posts along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of the border district, they said. Indian troops guarding the border mounted a befitting retaliation to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan troops.
In the cross-LoC firing, a solider identified as Havaldar Mathiazhagan P was critically injured.
A resident of Sreerangai Kadu village in Tamil Nadu, the injured soldier was removed to the nearby army hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.
