Jammu: An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with state forces in Rajouri district on Thursday, sources said.
The Army and police launched a cordon and search operation in Kalakote belt of the district on Thursday following specific information about the presence of infiltrating militants there, they said.
As per the reports, two-three militants are likely trapped, the sources said.
One of them has been reportedly killed in the encounter, they said, adding the operation is on.
Militants Attack Police In Kulgam, Health Worker Injured
Meanwhile a health worker on Thursday was injured when unidentified militants attacked a police party in Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Imtiyaz Ahmad, a health worker at Yaripora Sub District Hospital, was injured after militants attacked a police party in Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday.
The injured, he said was referred to Anantnag hospital, reports said.
Block Medical Officer Kulgam Dr. Nighat said that Ahmad who is working as basic health worker at Yaripora Sub District Hospital was critically injured. She said that Ahmad, a resident of Wanpoh, has been shifted to GMC Anantnag. “His condition remains critical,” she added.
Soon after the attack, police and army have cordoned off the area and started searches in the area to nab the attackers.
