Srinagar: Authorities on Thursday suspended a medical officer for his alleged negligence in handling coronavirus situation in the frontier district of Kupwara.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara ordered suspension of the Medical Officer Dr. Irfan, in-charge of RRT Handwara who has been accused of “creating problems for the administration”. “The Block Medical Officer Handwara directed (you) to explain your position within six hours, as you were frequently creating problems for the administration,” the order reads.
The officer had been accused of “releasing several inmates without seeing their daily test reports.”
“It has been reported that you released eight inmates from Quarantine Centre established at Degree College Handwara, without seeing daily test reports of inmates. There is gross negligence on your part,” the order reads.
“Keeping in view the impact of pandemic upon the general public, your behaviour has put the whole administration on the back foot as the hard-earned efforts have been badly affected by your action,” it adds.
Pending enquiry into the matter, the official has been placed under suspension with immediate effect and directed to report Sub-District Hospital Tanghdar. “The charge-sheet will follow”, the order adds.
