Srinagar- A total of 177 people, including 10 pregnant women, tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the number of cases in J&K to 2341, officials said.
“177 new COVID-19 cases were detected in J&K. While 125 of them are from Kashmir, 52 are from Jammu,” the officials said.
Among fresh cases, 40 cases were reported from Baramulla, 26 from Srinagar, 19 from Anantnag, 16 from Shopian, 14 from Ramban, 13 from Udhampur, 10 from Budgam, seven from Samba, six each from Kathua & Rajouri, five from Pulwama, four from Kulgam, three each from Kupwara & Doda, two from Jammu and one each from Bandipora, Ganderbal & Reasi, they said.
They said 77 persons who tested positive are travellers.
The number of confirmed cases has now reached 2,341, out of which 1,853 are in Kashmir, while 488 are in Jammu, the officials said.
There are 1405 active cases of the coronavirus disease in J&K — 1037 in Kashmir and 368 in Jammu — and 908 (791 from Kashmir and 117 from Jammu) patients have recovered, according to officials.
The J&K has witnessed 28 COVID-19 (25 from Kashmir, 3 from Jammu) deaths so far.
