Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported sixty-two new coronavirus cases including 14 cops taking the total number of infected across the Union Territory to 183, officials said.
They said 14 policemen and a pregnant woman were among the cases detected on Sunday.
Of the fresh cases, 46 are from Kashmir and 16 are from the Jammu region, the officials said.
In Kashmir, 28 cases were reported from Kulgam, 15 From Anantnag and 1 each from Srinagar, Pulwama & Shopian districts. 6 cases were reported from Jammu, 5 from Ramban, 2 from Samba and 1 each from Udhampur, Kathua & Poonch districts, they said.
The new cases in a day brought the tally to 1,183 in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
“Of these, 1035 are in Kashmir, while 148 are in the Jammu region,” the officials added.
A total of 575 people (515 in Kashmir, 60 in Jammu) have recovered from the infection, leaving 595 active cases in the Union Territory — 509 in Kashmir and 86 in the Jammu region.
The UT has witnessed 13 coronavirus-related deaths , including the one that took place on Sunday.
