Srinagar: Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir crossed eleven-hundred mark on Saturday after 108 more people tested positive for virus, taking the number of infected people across the Union Territory to 1121.
“108 cases have been reported from Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours,” the officials said, adding that 29 more patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals.
Of fresh cases, 86 were reported from Kashmir and 22 from Jammu division, they said.
In Kashmir, 47 cases were reported from Kulgam, 17 From Anantnag, 12 from Kupwara, 5 from Budgam, 3 from Srinagar and 2 from Baramulla district. In Jammu division, 12 cases were reported from Ramban and 10 from Kathua district, they said.
The officials said that the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 1121.
Of the total number of cases reported so far, 989 are from Kashmir and 132 from Jammu. Twelve people (ten In Kashmir and two In Jammu) have died and 542 patients (482 from Kashmir and 60 from Jammu) have recovered. The number of active cases stands at 567 patients (497 from Kashmir and 70 from Jammu) , they added.
More than 1 Lakh people have been kept under surveillance including those who are either in government established quarantine facilities or in home isolation.
