Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces at Sharshali Khrew village of Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the village, the government forces launched a cordon and search operation. It turned into an encounter after militants opened fire towards them, officials said. The government forces retaliated, killing the two militants, they said.
A senior police officer confirmed the killing of the militants and he identified them as Adil Manzoor Wani of PadgamPora and Rafiq Ahmad Dar of Kerinibal Samboora
In all four militants were killed on Wednesday in Pulwama district.
