Srinagar- Four militants were killed in a gunfight with state forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Sunday, police said.
A gunfight broke out after the militants fired upon a patrolling party of the state forces at Guddar in the Devsar area of the south Kashmir district Sunday evening, a police official said.
He said the state forces retaliated and in the ensuing gunfight four militants were killed.
The identity and group affiliation of the slain militants is being ascertained, the official said.
With these killings, the number of militants killed in April this year has reached 26, the Army said.
The overall count of the militants killed so far this year has risen to 58, an Army official said.
