Srinagar: A day after he was booked for violating lockdown norms, Kashmir’s business tycoon and prominent hotelier Mushtaq Chaya and his family on Saturday were placed under home quarantine by the officials here.
A Medical team was deputed to Chaya’s house in Zakura locality of Srinagar and after check-up, he and his eleven family members were asked to stay under home quarantine, sources said. Besides, the medical team also asked Chaya’s 3 drivers to go for home quarantine.
On Friday, J&K Police filed an FIR against the noted Kashmiri businessman for “escaping” a Red Zone in Jammu and undertaking a travel towards Srinagar.
Police had said Chaya left for Srinagar along with few others and has reached his Zakoora home in Srinagar despite lockdown.
“As intimated by SHO PS Trikuta Nagar, Jammu vide his signal dated 17-4-2020 that today one person namely Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya R/O Zakoora Srinagar who was staying at Farooq Abdullah Enclave, Bhatindi Jammu has deliberately left for Srinagar along with other persons from Red Zone Bhatindi,” a Police missive sent to DC Srinagar on Friday reads.
The letter forwarded to DC Srinagar had urged him to depute a medical team to Chaya residence for immediate medical screening and required quarantine as the case may be.
Police had also filed a case against the businessman under FIR No 109/20 U/S 188 IPC in Police Station Trikuta Nagar.
