Srinagar: The district administration in Kupwara on Friday suspended a pharmacist after he refused to serve meals to the covid-19 patients being treated at a hospital in the frontier district.
The pharmacist identified as Shabir Ahmed Lone and posted at Isolation Hospital in Kupwara was suspended on the orders of the District Magistrate Kupwara Dr Anshul Garg, news agency KNT reported. The action was taken on the recommendation of Chief Medical Officer, who reported the unruly behavior of the pharmacist posted and his refusal to serve food to Covid-19 patients at the newly established quarantine centre at Kupwara hospital.
“The pharmacist has been suspended for his unruly behavior. During the period of his suspension and till the completion of enquiry into this incident, he will remain attached with the officer of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karnah,” District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg said.
