Srinagar: The district administration Ganderbal on Friday declared Gutlibagh village as a red zone and the adjoining villages as buffer zone after a positive case was detected in the area.
District Magistrate Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal declared Gutlibagh village as a red zone and the adjoining villages of Babawayil and Wayil as Buffer Zones, a day after a man tested positive for coronavirus in the village, an official spokesperson said today. Iqbal invoked prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC and Disaster Management Act, 2005, banning inward or outward movement of any person from the red zone.
The Deputy Commissioner warned stern action against the violators as per provisions relevant act.
So far, 34 people from Gutlibagh and Mammar have been quarantined after coming into who have come in contact with the infected person.
Meanwhile, The District Magistrate, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal and ADM Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba today visited the area to monitor the situation. The officials said that it has become imperative to take stringent precautionary measures of complete lockdown by declaring village as Red zone and surrounding villages as a buffer zone to break transmission of the disease in the area.
