Srinagar: The district administration in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on Thursday ordered closure of all the banks and ATMs in the areas declared ‘red zones’ after cases surfaced from there.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr Anshul Garg today ordered closure of the branches of J&K Bank, Grameen Bank Cooperative Bank and State Bank of India in Trehgam, Drugmulla, Bagbella and Mangiah areas declared ‘red zones’ by the administration to prevent spread of coronavirus, news agency GNS reported.
The District Magistrate also ordered closure all the ATMs falling under red zones with immediate effect.
However, for the convenience of people in red zones, mobile ATMs will be available from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily.
The officials have been told to ensure mobile ATMs in the red zones are daily fumigated and PPE kits are provided to the officials to be deployed with mobile ATM vans.
