Srinagar- Suspected militants on Sunday shot at and injured a retired Army soldier in Buchroo area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.
“Suspected militants shot at Abdul Hamid Matto, a retired Army soldier, near his house at Bachroo vilage in Kulgam district,” a police official said.
Hamid, suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Qaimoh for treatment where from he was referred to GMC Anantnag in critical conditions. A doctor at PHC Qaimoh said that Hamid had received two bullet wounds.
Soon after the incident, the state forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants.
