KARGIL – A delegation of Kargil Muslims Thursday called on Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and demanded early formation of Hajj Committee, Ladakh.
“After the bifurcation of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh was left with no Hajj Committee”, said Aga Syed Abbas Rizvi, Executive Councillor LADHC, Kargil.
Rizvi said he led a delegation and called on the union minister to apprise him about the urgency of Hajj Committee formation as the pilgrimage season was nearing.
He said delegation urged the union government to set up Hajj Committee, Ladakh headquarters at Kargil as 95 percent of Ladakh’s Muslim population resides in the Kargil district.
