SRINAGAR – Enforcement Directorate has attached properties of at least 6 Hizbul Mujhadeen militants so for in Kashmir Valley. The properties have been attached in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district and Bandipora and Sopore areas of North Kashmir.
An official said that some of the former militants whose properties have been attached are languishing in jails. He added that a team from New Delhi, comprising officials from Enforcement Directorate, Revenue and Ministry of Finance led by one Assistant Director Dinesh Kumar attached these properties after National Investigating Agency (NIA) filed charge sheets against these former militants in alleged militancy funding case.
The six former militants whose properties mostly personal land have been attached are former Hizb Commander Talib Lali, Muzafar Ahmed Dar, Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Amir Khan, Zafar Hussain alias Khurshid Ahmed and Muhammad Shafi Shah.
A local Revenue official said that properties have been attached under Money Laundering Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate also attached 18 marlas of land belonging to a local Nazir Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Muhammad Dar of Watergam Rafiabad. (KNT)
