SHOPIAN – Under the recently launched MIS scheme, over 40,000 apple boxes have been procured from registered farmers at New Mega Fruit Mandi Aglar Shopian through the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED). It is in formed by the Deputy Commissioner Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin during a review of the Market Intervention Scheme in the district here today.
The DC directed the concerned to gear up their administrative machinery to ensure that Apple growers reap the benefits of the special Market Intervention Scheme.
The necessary facilities and infrastructure is created for smooth functioning of the scheme at the New Mega Fruit MandiAglar, a massive 31 crore project being funded under PMDP and NABARD, which is being operationalized for the first time. Senior level functionaries from Horticulture Department were managing and supervising the entire procurement operation at the spot.
