SRINAGAR The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday constituted State Level Apex Committee to oversee the implementation of National Green Tribunal’s orders on Solid Waste Management, Plastic Waste Management, Bio-medical Waste Management, Clean Air and River Pollution, etc.
The eight-member apex body comprises of Chief Secretary as chairman, administrative secretaries of health and medical education, housing and urban development department, transport, forest, ecological and environment, divisional commissioner Jammu/Kashmir/Ladakh, chairman J&K state pollution control board and member secretary state pollution control board.
The committee is authorized to co-opt any Member(s)/Expert(s), reads an order issued here. The Apex Committee shall meet at least once a month, it added.
