SRINAGAR- The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed Department of Tourism undertake an exercise of mapping of the location and name of all the houseboats on its website.
A division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rashid Ali Dar passed the orders after the Department of Tourism filed a status report with regard to the registered and non-registered houseboats.
Let the Department of Tourism undertake an exercise of mapping of the location and name of all the houseboats, its owners in a tabulation on the website of the Tourism Department.
We are informed that the Committee of Experts is visiting the Srinagar for a physical inspection and meetings. List this matter for consideration on 7th August 2019, the court added.
Meanwhile, B A Dar, senior additional advocate general sought time from the court in placing a report regarding the rehabilitation process which is to be undertaken for the lake dwellers who have to be shifted.
