SRINAGAR Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today chaired a meeting to discuss the important issues of Health & Medical Education department. He also reviewed the progress on the projects initiated for the overall development of health sector in the state.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Health Atal Dulloo, Mission Director NHM Bhupinder Kumar, Principal GMC Srinagar Dr Kaiser Ahmed, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Kunzes Dolma while as Principal GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina, MD JKMSCL Shiv Kumar Gupta, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Sameer Mattoo and other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
Detailed discussions were held on various important issues pertaining to the further improvement of healthcare services and development of health related projects in the state.
With regard to the procurement of drugs, equipments and machinery for various government health institutions, MD JKMSCL was asked to brief the meeting about the process of procurement and tentative timeline for providing the equipments to the institutions.
MD JKMSCL was asked to expedite the process and ensure that the projected demand of equipments/machinery is handed over to the institutions to make them operationalize at the earliest. Besides, he was also directed ensure procurement and supply of important drugs that are to be provided to the health institutions as per the free drug policy.
The Advisor said that the existing process of procurement should be made more simple so that the critical equipments/drugs can be procured without wasting much time but following due procedure.
Director Health Services Kashmir and Jammu were asked to project their demand well in time to the corporation so that procurement process is initiated in time.
Various issues pertaining to the National Health Mission (NHM) and its support for the development of health sector in the state was also discussed in detail. MD NHM informed the meeting about the status of the projects they have undertaken and status of funds to be provided for improving patient care services in the state.
The Advisor also asked for compiling the list of completed projects so that same can be dedicated to the people at the earliest.
Improvement of Urban Health Centres in Kashmir and Jammu, status of Pahalgam hospital, status of Rehmat-e-Alam hospital in Anantnag, status of digitization of service records of all doctors, pending DPCs in health department and issues to be taken up with the Finance department were also discussed in detail during the meeting.
The Advisor stressed for encouraging outreach programme so that people are provided with better services. He asked for delivering quality services to the people coming to the various government health institutions for the treatment.
